Depart directly from your area accommodation, and head to the banks of the Ticino River in the Verzasca Valley The valley of Verzasca undoubtedly is considered the most beautiful valley of Ticino. Crystal-clear emerald-green waters of the wild mountain river of Verzasca and magnificent Mediterranean vegetation with vineyards and the chestnut woods attracts thousands of tourists, fans of the nature and athletes. The river originates at the height of 2864 meters and flows to the south, flowing into Maggiore lake. Here it is possible to see hundreds of divers and kayaker. The rivers which are washed up in rocks – «natural bathtubs» become a favourite place for bathing in the summer. The ancient small village Korippo which is completely constructed from a stone and still kept the original state. Since 1975 Korippo is the protected monument of culture and history in the center of the valley. You will see unique and fantastic small village of Lavartezzo, which located on rocky slopes of mountains and the two-arch «Roman bridge» from stone of the XVII century which is favourite motive of post cards from Ticino. The only church in this valley was under construction in Baroque style. The church is faced by a bronze bust of the bishop Aurelyo Bachchitazzo, native of these places. For the full experience of the picturesque views, we will visit one of the highest dams in Switzerland - The Contra Dam, commonly known as the Verzasca Dam, where James Bond jumped from a height of 220 meters in the famous 007 GoldenEye. This place has been the site of many more movies and stunt scene productions over the years, such as in the famous Bollywood movie «Doom3», «Fire; Ice & Dynamite» from Bogner as well as TV-productions such as «the Amazing Race» or «Verstehen Sie Spass». Cancellation Policy

For all bookings of day tours operated by Open Up AG minimum of 24 hours’ notice of cancellation or amendment prior to your scheduled tour departure is required for a full refund. If a cancellation is made with less than 24 hours’ notice prior to departure no refund is given.
